The California Air Resources Board (CARB) adopted the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation, which became effective on October 1, 2023. This regulation mandates that fleets operating in California progressively increase their use of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), including battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
