It’s that time of year again – another EnergIIZE funding lane will be opening May 13! The 2025 EnergIIZE Fast Track Lane offers up to $3.75 million per fleet project to build EV charging fueling infrastructure across California.
In addition to readiness, funding will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be reviewed in two rounds: the first batch closes on June 15, and the second on July 15.
At Revolv, we’ve already secured close to $7 million in infrastructure and vehicle funding on behalf of our customer base, including nearly $1 million in EnergIIZE funding for our customers and $440,000 from last year’s Jump Start Funding Lane. Across multiple projects, this funding has covered 70–80% of total infrastructure costs, enabling fleets to deploy electric vehicles more economically than internal combustion vehicles. Even better, EnergIIZE can be stacked with other programs like HVIP and some utility infrastructure programs to cover up to 100% of project costs.
What is the EnergIIZE program?
The EnergIIZE (Energy Infrastructure Incentives for Zero-Emission) Commercial Vehicles Project is working to improve community health by reducing air pollution from harmful diesel emissions. Started in 2021, the program also aids California’s commercial fleets and industry partners in meeting the state’s climate goals, which is funded through the California Energy Commission (CEC) and implemented by CALSTART.
What’s new in 2025?
This year’s program significantly increases the potential funding available:
- Higher project caps:
- Up to $3.75M per EV charging infrastructure project.
- Funding is now allocated on a per port basis:
- $25K–$300K per EV charging port.
- Up to $375K per port with equity bonuses.
- Batched Application Process:
- Applications are reviewed in two monthly batches: Batch 1 (May 13–June 15) and Batch 2 (June 16–July 15). Each batch is evaluated independently, and applications submitted in Batch 2 will only be eligible for the portion of funds remaining after Batch 1 awards are made.
What does the EnergIIZE funding cover?
Covered expenses include:
- EV chargers and equipment (Level 2, DC fast, transformers, switchgear, charger accessories, panels, utility service upgrades, stub-outs)
- Software
- EVSE maintenance
- Warranty costs
Getting started:
- A purchase order for Class 2b or higher zero-emission vehicles.
- A California-based project site (owned, leased, or authorized).
- A quote for your EV chargers.
- A basic infrastructure plan.
Project completion timeline:
Projects must be commissioned and operational within 24 months of receiving the award notice, though discretionary extensions are available!
